Hi Everybody,

Ok so I have a 1990 honda civic si I just bought that has a O2 sensor code, I have replaced the O2 sensor and some of the harness because the insulation was cracked, also I have replaced the cat but the check engine light still comes on and when it does my rpms go up. Also when the transmission shifts you can really feel it, it shifts hard but no funny noises.

I can't get my car to pass my emmission test it fails on idle high hydrocarbons, if you have any idea's please let me know.

Latest work on car: New plugs, air filter, brake booster, cat, o2 sensor and fixed broken wire for for o2 sensor.

 

ok so I have now checked and I dont have any breaks in the wire all the way to the ECU and I checker the O2 sensor with the car running and I got 1 vdc. So now I'm thinking it is the ECU or maybe something to do with the EGR system does anybody have any ideas?

On another note my daytime lights relay needs to be replaced and my rear defogger is not working.

If anybody has any ideas please let me know.
