Setting time on gsr with crower valve springs issue
Hey guys so I'm wrapping up a full build on a gsr and the customer ran Brian crower dual valve springs with crower stage 2 turbo cams with skunk2 gears. Once the cams are in the journals and the cam caps are on,vtec cams have no slot for a wrench to turn the cam to compress the springs. I've never used the tool that locks the cam gears in place... We may have to purchase one. Anyone have any suggestions

I just use either a phillips screwdriver or a punch pin of appropriate diameter to hold the cams in place never had an issue

yeah I've used the punch on a non vtec camshaft... the have a hole on the gear end to place the punch. where are you placing the punch/screw driver on a vtec cam?

for anyone curious with a similar situation we ended up over torquing the cam gear bolts 7lbs so that we could rotate the cams by the bolts.
