HELP!!! TIMING BELT KEEPS SKIPPING ON CAM GEARS
Hey guys, recently built up a b16a2 with ctr pistons and skunk2 tuner 2 cams with buddy club cam gears. Brought it to the tuner to tune but the timing belt keeps on skipping. The tuner fixed it and it happened again... I got them another set of golden eagle cam gears and it still happened again. All 3 times the tension is correct. Brand new timing belt, new water pump, old crank gear. Has anyone ran into a problem like this?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
My tensioner is brand new but it isn't an oem unit. I read another post seeing the same issue as me and he fixed it with an oem one. gonna try the oem tensioner and hope its fine.
Aftermarket tensioners are fine. Doubtful. Technique is issue. You have decently aggressive cams, belt needs extra tension. HD tension spring from speedfactory might help, personally I just bend a coathanger type wire into a hook and pull up extra tension.
That and/or add a front side tensioner pulley. The aftermarket ones. Like this https://www.vmsracing.com/products/b...el-sol-integra

Thanks for the reply guys. Redid the tension and changed the tensioner as well (got an OEM unit from a friend so might as well use it). When I loosened the tensioner and noticed it wasnt torqued to spec by the tuners when they were repairing the problem which caused the belt to loosen. Replaced the tensioner and also tensioned the belt just a tad tighter and it doesn’t pop off anymore.
