D16 won’t start after assembling
Hey guys Wana make this short,
i just finished my head install today and forged rods plus pistions, I went to start the car but it wouldn’t start and instead would only crank. It’s 2 am and I need the car running tomorrow as I need it for work.
i noticed that ground wire from tranny to body gets hot and starts burning noticed it as it started smoking, also have tried flipping over the dizzy rotor just to see if it was that but nah.
what I did that may have chased it:
HEAD SWAP as last head had striped bolt holes
forged pistions
forged rods — no notch rods
have done timing.

One post rookie... stop repeating your panic all over the forum. You will not get an answer faster, nor will you get better information by copying the post in multiple sub-forums. In fact, it will be just the opposite: Fractured and scattered... and then the next guy with your issues will ask the same question because a search turned up a bunch of trash results. I know you are freaking out because you need the car... take a breath, calm down, and CHECK YOUR WORK. YOU did something wrong... you will find it if you look over everything and be critical of your work.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.
Does the ground wire only get hot after trying to start the engine multiple times (and attempting to start with long cranking periods) OR does it get hot with the engine just sitting and no attempt to start it was made ? If it is the former... I am not sure this is anything to worry about. If it is the latter... you have a wiring problem. Painted engines cause ground problems. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key (IGN2) ? If not, make sure that your engine harness ground is clean and tight... and remember that your thermostat housing (where your engine harness is grounded) is bolted to the block... so if you painted it, you will NOT get a good ground connection between the thermostat housing and the engine block. Also, painting the edge of the block where the transmission bolts to it causes grounding issues... and your primary ground is attached to the transmission.
As stated in another one of your threads... check your grounding.
