Noob here so please excuse my ignorance lol. I am building a motor for my gsr sedan. I am boring over to 2.0 would i be able to use the standard gsr crank or would i need a b20 crank? I really want to keep the block girdle for the 8-9k redline i plan on doing... Lmk guys thanks in advance!

What engine? I am going to assume B18C1 since you talk about a GSR crank and a girdle. With stock sleeves the largest you can safely go is 82mm. With a GSR crank (87.2mm) you are around ~1.84 L and with a B20/LS crank (89mm) you are at ~1.88 L... if you change your crank you have to change your rods.

A bore of 84.5mm and the 89mm crank still only puts you at ~1.996 L... to get over 2L you would need 85mm x 89mm and would end up with 2.02 L or so and would need to sleeve your current block or swap it for a B20.

None of the max overbores on stock sleeves would be recommended though (82 or 85mm) unless you are sticking with N/A.

Whatever crank you want. I gave you the information you need above. Heck, you could even put in a B16 crank if you so desired. Anything is possible... it's up to you. I would assume though, since you keep giving little to no information, that you have aftermarket GSR rods already. If that's the case, unless you want to purchase new rods, then stick with the GSR crank. BUT, either crank, you will NOT have a 2L engine with a 84mm bore. Better yet:

You can use either crankshaft you want. Just match the crankshaft to the rods. (GSR crank/GSR rods or LS crank/LS rods)
The LS crank will get you closer to a true 2 liter, but even the factory B20 is just under 2 liters. It's close enough though to just round up.
Block girdle can be used with either crankshaft.

Didn't I just say all that? LOL! Well then while we are rounding, may as well call a 1.6L a 2.0L...
