Hi friends, I have a spare head from a h22a4 prelude,its been rebuilt stock but I dont have the original cams for it. I did pick up a set of cams and cam caps from another head at the local wreckers for a good price. I've read that it's not a good idea to use any other cams than the ones that were original to the head unless you get the head machined to fit the new cams. Is this what I have to do in order to use these cams on the head?

 

Cams should be fine to swap. The cam caps however do not swap between heads without machine work.

Correct. Cam caps need to stay with the head they came from (not the cam), unless they are line honed with the new head they go onto.
