yea i remember when i used to go out street racing real late with my friends older brother. it was about the race and your cars performance not about showin off with bling bling. now every ricey mother ****** with a cavalier or camry or auto 4 door civic is a street racer. its just sad that the scene blows up and the people who are the real enthusiasts dont want to be there. i wont be able to afford a RWD car in time to get into the drifting scene before it gets out of hand. and this may also be the demise of some of the **** we love anyways because u know there are gonna be some dumb ******* who will be doin this in the streets and killing people. a few bad eggs will ruin it for us all.

either way though i will be there at irwindale. because i wanna see the pros drift and the rice-a-ronis crash it up.

ah great, they're teaching ricers a technique that gives gains just like ricer accessories - absolutely nothing.

And who are you to specify whats ricer accessories and whats not?
do altezzas give you gains?
do generic exhuast tips give you gains?
do giant aluminum wings on an FF give you gains?

these are the stereotypical accessories, and none of them give you gains. give me a list of what you think ricer accessories are, because rice is technically supposed to be pointless / tacky addons.

Does a JDM TYPE R valve cover give you gains over ur stock valve cover?
Does a TYPE R lip give u gains over having just a stock bumper?

NO They are just cosmetic stuff just like altezzas and wings and what not, so GAYDM **** is just as rice as apc stuff is if u wanna talk about it like that.

He does what he can to make money. Get over it. JDM Model Search : Who will be our new upcoming Drift Event queen
**** this stupid ****....turning drifting into a car show

Then dont go. 96% of you didnt know what "drifting" was or what "togue" was 2 years ago. You guys are following the trends. First it was JDM, then this. 99% of u were street racing 2 years ago, now u drive fast down a mountain. cool. Your getting bent out of shape about ken exploiting something that he can make money on. The "scene" and the rest of the kids that didnt know , know now. There is nothing you can do to stop that. GET OVER IT.
"He does what he can to make money."

exactly. he is just an opportunist. there are plenty of drifting competitions out there and not a drifting car show. he was an innovator before by starting an import car show when there wasn't one but, now he is just jumping on the bandwagon of what is "trendy."

i've known about drifting since '97 and i'm not following a trend because i don't try to drift my fwd honda and i don't follow the sport of drifting at all.

Drifting is gay. My personal choice for doing something completely pointless in order to look cool is burnout competitions.

Nope, but I can do some hellacious burnouts with over 400hp, 3.80 gears, and a 4 speed. 3rd gear burnouts own j00!

they can be cosmetic, but notice how i said tacky.

either way, drifting, much like altezzas and big wings, does not make you faster.

happy now?

Yep! I really don't do burnouts though. I try to not do them, and it's pretty challenging off the line. I did have one big hellacious smokeshow after I swapped my 3.00 open chunk for the 3.80 trac-loc. Tires are too expensive to do that on any kind of regular basis.
