s2000 drfiters?
Just curious if anyone drifts their s2k. If so maybe you can share your drift setup, like what type of suspension, camber adjustment, tire choice, rim size, lsd, etc.

I'm sorry you don't approve.
For your information this "ricer" regularly attends track events like ROAD COURSES (ie buttonwillow, thunderhill, infineon). Not sissy autox. I will be at DD7 to try my first drifting event so I wanted to know if other s2000 drivers had done it before so I can setup my car properly for that event.

I personally never have. I don't think I've ever seen any s2000s set up for drifting. It seems like this car would be pretty hard to drift efficiently. What kind of suspension setup are you running now?

From what I've been able to come up with talking with folks from japan... The reason you don't see s2000s drifting as much in japan is because frankly there are way better cars to get (ie 240sx, skyline, ae86) that are cheap and are turbocharged stock or are cheap to boost.

Wow how much they are all so quick to help you out
Anyway since the s2000 does'nt have the power band ideal for drifting you may want to look at swapping out for a 4.7 final drive
Also I would recommend you start on bald tires and go very slow as the s2000 can have great grip and then just have none and it catches alot of people off gaurd
Wheather anyone wants to admit it or not drifting is not a mere trend and has increased dramatically in popularity and will continue to do so
Keep the suspension settings as far as camber and toe stock but with the car as low as possible.
Anyway good luck

You sound kind of ingnorant. There are two types of drifting: 1) show 2) racing.
Most of the drifting you've seen is probably for show... I doubt that you were even aware that a certain type of drifting allows the car to turn faster. That's how the drift king got his name. Now because he was a showsman, but because he could use drifting to his advantage.
So you should perhaps learn a few more things about drifting before criticizing it...

Any recommended coilover choices?

Help me do what? I want to participate in a fun and legally sanctioned auto-event. Why does it have to help me do anything other than enjoying my car? Is the only reason to go autox, road courses, and the drag strip just so it can "help" you? How about its fun and you won't get your car impounded for it?
But seriously though... I wanted to discuss car setup, not go OT about why people just hate drifting for no real reason other they just don't like it.

Hey man it's just my opinion. The fact that it is legally sanctioned doesn't make me feel like it's anymore of a sport or anymore fun. To each his own though...just hope you don't smash your car like some I've seen.

Just by your name alone, I doubt you have a rear wheel drive car...and as for being ignorant, have you seen any of the drift Kings real race footage? not a single drift in the corners...
