I hate this drifting fad!!!
Today i saw a ugly primered 240sx try to drift in to a turn. It was one of the uglist drift i've seen. Pegleg with one wheel squeelin from lack of a lsd.
This whole drift thing is damn dangerous, he could have lost control and jumped to an oncoming traffic. This isn't the first time i've seen something like this. I fear that this will just blow up after the new FnF movie hits.

how is that any different than the kids after the FNF with their 20 second honda civics trying to street race?
dont hate everyone/thing because of the actions of a select few. i hate those kids also but lets not group every drifter into that category. kinda like how all civic owners dont like body kits, and wings, and altezzas?

it has already blown up, there have been 2 F&F's already. it appears that when sort of less known/underground things become popular and trendy they start to suck, this is a general statement
I saw a drift go wrong not to long ago.. one of the funnyest things i ever saw.. I watched a MR2 try to kick it sideways.. ended up over correcting.. jumping a curb and landing head on to a truck The parking lot is actually lower then the road, see pic below for location... funny stuff.
Its still fun to get the *** end lose in the middle of the night when no one is around.
With the popularity of drifting, they really need to setup autocross like drifting sessions to help get the **** of the streets.
You can hate it all you want, but its here to stay... I say we embrace it and make the streets that much safer.

As soon as a "sport/hobby" reaches the point where people start making money off it the advertising execs start running with it and push it to bring in as much money as possible. If it's a fad 5 years from now people will be like "WTF is this drifting you speak of?". If it's not a fad my grandkids will be doing it.
I'm old enough to remember when someone talking about building a Honda would have provoked laughter.

There was not one fast import in my highschool. The only fast 4 cyl was a Pinto HB that ran 11s till he swapped a 351 into it and got into the 10s. People were building toyota 22r's at the time but those were mostly being built for offroading. You seldom saw a turbo car that wasn't a factory turbo car.
