Default favorite type of drift to do in a honda

I used to like e-braking, but they get too wild and I don' thave the horsepower to pull em off the way I like to. I like pulling a few random feint drifts through those endless green arrows on my way home in the wee hours. No I'm not claiming drifter kid either, simply a poll to see what others enjoy when messing around at night, unless you think going straight is more fun.

Drifting Civic is the best, no car ff drifts as well and u can do it for sytle or speed, I only way to drive a ff car fast is to limit understeer this is done by using a small amount of over steer (drifting) u can drift a ff car. I part of option motorsport drift club and we have a few ff cars in club as well as mine. but of course we have plenty of AE86 and 180sx and 200sx and yes these are awsome for power drifting.

Live long and master the art off ff drifto!

get on kazaa and d/l some of those JDM stock CTR race demos......if u cant find em, email me....one shows a guy in an ITR and a guy in a CTR and all they do is stick and grip....drifting is not something anyone can/should brag about in their honda unless they got Unlce Bens under the hood.

I understeer drift.

It's fun as hell.

It's easiest for me on left hand turns for some reason. First or second gear is best.

For a 90 degree left turn from a stop light I'll start moving to about 10 miles an hour, then yank the wheel from say...2-3 o clock, and yank it down to about 7-9 o'clock and then floor it.

The front wheels lose traction and the front end pushes out, so that way, even though you've cranked the wheel too far for the turn, you drift out to the point where you wanted to be. The rear wheels seem to just come along for the ride.

Then, you straighten the wheel and let off the gas as you reach the line you want, and catch traction, then floor it again and go.

It works well enough. Doesn't look as cool, nor does it smoke tires.

*** dragging is still drifting.

By definition, a drift is a controlled loss of traction on the front, rear or all four tires.

But most people refer to drifting as those rear wheel tail sliding visually appealing car slides.

That said, I like to front wheel drift. I only do it in the rain or on the track, but it's easier to do in the rain.

To bad you can't really controll whats going on in a FF car like you do in a FR or RR or MR car....

You people are gay.

You CANNOT drift a FF car. Drifting involves keeping the gas planted and the REAR tires spinning. You cant do this in an FF car, It will pull you out of the drift if you stay in the throttle.

sliding is NOT drifting.

How many option videos show civics drifting? NONE, shut up.

You're gay, you narrow minded jerk.

Really? Go watch your Option videos again. A lot of drifts aren't started by planting the gas. Clutch popping, chicane bouncing. There are LOTS of ways to drift.

And, what about the all wheel drive cars that drift by spinning all their wheels? Are they not drifting because they are making their front tires slide too?

Drifting is a controlled slide. ANY controlled slide is a drift, whether you assdrag or fishtail.

Get over yourself and your Option videos you elitist *****. You can drift in whatever you want. It just happens to be EASIER to start, maintain and control slides in a powerful RWD car.

In fact, I'd say someone that could start, maintain, and control a slide in a FF car has MORE skill than RWD drifters because it's harder to do.

I don't care what anyone says...assdragging IS drifting. Just as Mojo-jojo said..any type of slide is a drift.

How do you think rally cars drift? Hello...e-brake! The point is to shoot the tail end out right, thus loosing traction is a controlled manner, therfore you are drifting.

You are correct sir. I wasn't going to comment on this thread at all earlier, but after reading some of it I had to get my point across...yes still gay indeed!

OWN3D!!! Option2 #31

Heh, heh--you beat me to it, Brian! The FF Drift King dude in that video had a cool little ZC-powered EF that he could get WAAAAYYYYY crossed up. Pretty cool. Not my thing, but cool nonetheless.

Argument #2 Back in the early days of the Slidesquad Site, Daveslidesquad had this big pic of his sideways EF that he labelled as "EF Drift King". He got into a Japanese drift magazine drifting his EF. I guess the Japanese don't know much about drifting, though

Frosty...you are wrong. Go take a driving school class at Barber, Bondurant, or Hall.

Too many people watch those JDM videos and think that is drifting. It's only one aspect of drifting.

Drifting is a CONTROLLED loss of traction. It doesn't matter which wheels or which end.

Going by your argument, it seems only cars that send power to the rear wheels can drift.

I've seen Jacques Villeneuve do a four wheel drift in a Williams-Renault FW18 at Barcelona. Or wait...four wheels...hmmm...you don't consider that a drift?

Anyways, internet arguing is still retarded...I'm gonna go on with my life now.

Oh gawd...go destroy all your Initial D crap.

going around a turn yanking the Ebrake, sliding like 3 feet and comming to a stop is not a "Drift".

That was Young Version back in 99 a friend of mine was in that same article with his Silvia. The reason why they featured that was because it was unique and funny.
