That is a stupid thing to say. The first part is true (i deal with idiot noobies daily that think they know a lot because they have an sr20 240) but just because you aren't professional doesn't mean you shouldn't drive your car how you want. By that logic, no one should drag race, play football, basketball, or do anything basically because they wren't professional.

Seriously. I just switched from a CRX to an EF for this autocross season. It's totally different, even though it's using basically everything from the CRX. Like you said, I would spin for what seemed like no reason in the CRX, have yet to spin the hatch. It's certainly possible, but it's going to take a lot!</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yeah, the CRX is a great car to learn on because it forces you to be smoother with inputs. I actually did the reverse of what you did - I switched from co-driving a friend's '90 hatchback to my '91 CRX, and I had a lot of trouble early on with keeping the rear end in the rear. Now that I've gotten a lot of seat time in with the car and fiddled enough with the settings, I am able to control it easier and take advantage of the twitchy handling. It has also made me a smoother, faster driver in any car.

I am afraid to be on the same public roads as someone who doesnt thing throttle is involved in turning.

Have you ever been to a drift competition (or even better ridden in a drift car)? Throttle control is what seperates a power slide from a drift.

For the people who are a bit confused. I meant to mock the poster before me because he said there was NO throttle control in FWD drifting. My post was supposed to be interpreted as "yea like there isnt any throttle control in FWD? because there is! just like ALL drifting!" My phrase "yea like there isnt throttle control in FWD" obviously meant "there is throttle control"

<U>I KNOW THERE IS THROTTLE CONTROL IN ALL DRIFTING, IM NOT ******* DUMB</U>

Most don't make "crazy amounts of HP" they are rather conservativly tuned, with throttle responce, HP curve, and high RPM reliability in mind. Also drifting requires the same skill set as track racing, but applied in a more relaxed/fun way.

But targa you CRX is still not faster than that said 90 hatch .

Josh who owns a 90 civic hatch setup for street mod Autocross(FTD contender BTW). And who has went to couple drift practice with it, and was able to power on oversteer it about 80percent of the time. IMO a great ff drift car if you know you **** about car control and have some large somethings due the high entry speeds you have to use to drift without cheating(ie E-brake). Maybe we can get some vid if i go to another one.

some rwd cars even initiate with the ebrake, but you are right, FF cars seem to slide longer w/o ebraking, seems to slow the car too much.

Drifting a FWD car is harder than drifting a RWD car. Thats what makes it so cool. RWDs Just look much cooler doing it is all.

IMO, Drifting is boring, but non-the-less, you can't deny that anyone that's good at it doesn't have some skills.

I think its funny if any of you guys ever tried doing ff sliding or drifting or whatever you care to call it that throttle control is more that half of the battle...I think its just as hard and fun to do as rwd drifting...just my opinion...bash me all you want its my .02
