I always wonder why I don't see so many domestics drifting. You can get a LT1 f-body for the price of a 240sx, and 5.0's are dirt cheap. Does the solid rear axle really mess things up that bad? Or is it just a matter of taste?

I think it has more to do with the jdm fanboys. There are a few Mustangs in the "mainstream" drifting like D1 and Formula D.

theres only 2 basically origional "domestic" drift cars out there that have run and competed on a professional level.

^^^Yeah I have seen that Camaro, as well as the factory backed GTO and Viper and the Falken Mustang. I just don't understand why more regualr guys aren't using mustangs and camaros, since they are so cheap, RWD, and have a good deal more power than a 240sx or AE86.

those factory cars are ridiculous. thats what happens with unlimited budgets...sign me up lol

honestly im not sure why there isnt more out there. i mean the platforms are great. you can make an old mustang IRS and eliminate the live axle problem.

the people getting into drifting now arent the most intelligent. they are fanboys. that plays a big role in it im sure.

That's what I was thining, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and see if there was something technical that made it hard to drift muscle/pony cars.

The Camaro is ******* sick. The are running the same rear suspension setup as NASCAR (Track Bar) Which makes the rear end more stable, or atleast thats what Super Chevy said in their feature of the car.

Get a older nissan or datsun and put a lt1 in there and call it day. Or just buy someone elses project. They are usually a good bit around.
