Drifting
drive in reverse if ur ******* stupid.
People like you give us a bad reputation and having dumbasses call us ricers. Dumbass kids. You dont deserve to own a honda/acura.
All ur posts are stupid ****. For example, "i wanna put a v6 in my teg so it can go faster." And u made like 5 threads on u want to make ur auto to manual. Just stop posting.

this is plan stupid. i have friends like u that tried this. lemme tell u what happened.
94 integra ls yanked e brake, hit telephone pole
same car again same situation, hit electrical barrier
92 hatchback wit ls swap yank e brake, hit tree
same car again, hit someones fence in there yard
del sol wit b16, hit pole
as u can tell jus by my dumbass friends this isnt smart. if u wann drift buy a 24 and go to a track or an open as parking lot

I've been in racing since the early 90's when my friend came back from Japan and introduced me to drifting. If a person doesn't have the skills then admit to it. Don't say it's impossible. Only tools here are the ones who followed the media hype and the bandwagon BS. Civic HB have been used for years for drifting. Once again lets go over the term Drift.
Drift:
To cause a vehicle to exceed its tires' limits of adhesion, exhibiting a lateral slip, resulting in an oversteered condition.
Translated: It's a loss of tire grip resulting in a lateral slide corrected by oversteering.
It's easier to do in a RWD, like most people today they want instant gratification and do things the easy way. "Draging ***" or "Pushing the nose" two techniques for the same outcome. Next thing you know these so call experts will be saying that you can only drift in a certain manufacture's cars
edit: I would not suggest anybody to start drifting until they read alot on drifting and rebuild their suspension to handle the stress of braking and lateral forces. Brake rotor upgrades, sway bars, strut towers, tie down bars, caliper upgrades, coilovers, etc etc. Expect to spend atleast 1000 USD just to start out. Too many kids just want to throw on bolt-ons and not read up on drifting and try it on the streets.

No, actually SA22 RX-7's are LWD (left wheel drive) Haha. Wow. Just wow.
FF drifting IS possible. If you attend any of the drift sessions at Hawaii Raceway Parl, you'll see a guy with an EG hatch drifting around. And his E-brake isn't held up the whole time. Also, Falken has their own FF Drift EF.

yeah the falken EF is that guy i was talking about Keisuke Hatakeyama they hired him from japan to be the driver to drift it after they saw some clips of him drifting a civic on the net somewhere and he's pretty damn good at it too
yes he drifts but he doesnt compete in anything hes just a demo guy. ff *** drags drift is suspension and loss of grip in the rear tires while controlling the car. d1gp rules car must be rwd
my advice if you want to drift
sell integra
buy 240sx
upgrade suspension and slowy learn how the car handles

If you hit the E brake you will be doing a 180 with the right amount of speed off course.

yo can power slide but honeslty it will not be drifting, adjust your e-brake so it can be tight all the way up, so you when you pull the E half way you wont lock your tires and just slightly slow them down, and just learn to control the amount of E you give it. Have fun power sliding.

Bahhahaah, there's actually a video on this.
Bah hahahaahah
Drifting is fun if you know how, and all it is...is just "been there...done that"

Well that explains alot. I guess they wanted everybody to compete on the same level. So they limited the field to just RWD. FWD and RWD both have thier advantages and disadvantages. A RWD must hate it when a FWD left foot's it through a turn and exits the turn faster than what they entered. I've watched formula D a few times and what gets me is when do you need 400+HP Viper or Mustang to drift? To me that's overkill. When a less HP car it"s easier to find that balance of control and power. Competitive drifting is lame as hell. Give me autocross or road rally any day.

im not saying its impossible to drift in a ff just stating that if u have never drifted and trying to learn then an integra isnt a wise choice to start with, or any front wheel drive car. and also i think its dumb

exactly..there is always pros and cons to this but this is my input...
its more grip with a fwd car than drifting. If you want to drift stick to the rwd, dont put your self in a situation that you would not be able to get out of, all because of your curiousity, do the homework first, its all steps of progression. Driving skill overtakes the car when it boils down to it. *note, video games are not reality, we just dont bounce off the wall and try again, it would be silly to think that.
the touges and rallye you got to love em'

Alright, I know I might get flamed, but I will speak from experience.
For a time trial (or to drive the perfect line) grip is better than drifting, do you see F-1 cars drifting? This is because energy is lost through kinetic friction (I highly recommend you analyze the physics of a drift).
Now I have raced Formula SAE and SCCA, but I have also raced Mini Baja SAE and oval dirt track. So I have a bit of drifting experience during competition. Drifting is used to pass an opponent when the perfect line is blocked or if you are at a traction disadvantage. Use the drift to poke your nose in and make them back off, thereby letting you move your car in front. It's kind of "Passing dirty." Drifting only needs to be used in pack racing.
What I mean is, you simply want to reorient the position of the car during mid turn when you are in a position that will result in excessive braking or understeer.
I'll use an example. If I want to pass a car that has been blocking me on a normal apex line, I will move to the inside position an go deep in to the turn. I am now ahead of him by half a car length, but I need to slow way down or else I am going to understeer off the road on the outside of the turn. So I apex early and tap the brakes mid-turn to initiate oversteer. He has to back off because my front is blocking him, my back end swings in front to take a full car lead. The car only rotates about 30 degrees or so until I line up with a tangent line that has been predetermined as the ideal exit line. I mash the throttle to get back end to hook up, and speed away one position higher.
Yes, drifting can be done in an FF, but you need very high entry speed, because you can not power through like a RWD or AWD can. I highly suggest learning to drift on a dirt course first, it's much easier to learn the vehicle's dynamics, and you are typically going slower than a road course.
And for the safety of us all, DO NOT PRACTICE ON THE STREET!!!!!
