I think youre in the wrong forum lmao. Get a 240, any kind really. AE86 corollas are too expensive nowadays and many are in bad condition.

my friend had an old 92 nissan stanza he got for free. it was an awesome drift car, for a 2.0 and completely stock car lol.

f.y.i. your friends grandmothers ford taurus= bad drift car! it didnt drift, the tires gripped, and we plowed a mailbox over and ended up in a fight with a large pine tree... (tree won)

What? Were you *** dragging with an e-brake in an FF car and calling it drifting? Stanza's were never RWD

To the OP, cheapest would probably be a 240. If you've never drifted before, it really doesnt matter too much how it looks. You'll probably [freak] it up anyway. Most of the professional drifters crashed their cars numerous times.

A 240sx would be your best bet. My uncle bought one with a S13 front end and 155,000 miles for about $3000, so you're bound to find something.

+1 on the Cressenda, you can get one for like $1000 and strap a Home Made Turbo kit onto it to get some extra oomph.

that and its a larger car so when you wreck *which you will* you and the car will probably fair better than a Dinky 240.

RX-7's are not a good idea unless they are a turbo motor *which is well north of 3K...*

Naturally aspirated they have VERY little torque, which is what you need to drift.

Another good option would be a late 80's BMW 3 series. RWD, straight 6 with like 160=170tq in a 2400lb car, but get ready to break drive-train pieces.

I like Cressidas, thinking about picking one up myself. The only one I've seen drift was this maroon one on YouTube and I think it had a 1JZ in it, so I'm not too sure on its drifting abilities. You should do it though.

I would think nearly any RWD car would work OK, right? Cheap RWD cars I can think of:

3rd gen f-body (even a base 305 should have enough power)
1st gen Q45
5.0 SN95 (i think they are cheaper than fox bodies at this point)
MKIII supra
FC RX7
MK1 MR2 (not sure how the mid engine thing works for drifting)
E30 3-series
E34 5-series
1st gen GS300
SC300

im sure there are tons more

Cheap and drifting do not go together. Even those janky cars that art students from the San Gabriel Valley have money in them.
