mine is in my work box at the front lad bolted to the frame. (open deck)

for what it is worth also i am using a ****** block, it lets the winch not work as hard.

I thought about just running a 4 gauge wire from the battery of the truck to a quick disconnect on the rear bumper. Then have a lead off of the frame of the trailer to plug into the bumper??? Obviously I can ground it anywhere really.

Yeah I gave that some thought too. Mounting a separate battery in the trailer, and I would assume you just tap into the 12v constant on the trailer plug for charging????

That would work, I'm just looking to have something more integrated.

I just connect mine to the E-Track system and hook it up to my portable jumper pack.

Good one JJ!

Ill be using ryans open trailer with winch attached to the front!

Ive seen a lot of winchless trailers at the race way.. most just push or drive their cars in!

Here's the set up in rota's trailer.

Notice the small black box, it has something to do with charging the battery.

I wonder if the black box just charges the battery when you have 110v i.e. the generator hooked up to it???

Interesting setup.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. But you could take the NAPA part number and check it out.

The trailer also plugs into a 110 outlet on the house.
