Default Wheel Width

How important is wheel width when it comes to getting the most from a Drag radial? Im looking at 6.5" and 7" wheels for 225/50/15 ET streets. Will there be a difference between the 2 with this tire?

I have mine on a 7" slipstream and a close friend of mine has them on some gsr wheels and it does seem like mine are more flat on the contact surface. His look taller and mine look wider even though we have the same tires.

Seems like from my experience, you pull the tire on a narrow rim it will fit but you sacrifice contact patch as said above. What happens is you pull it on the rim and it lifts the edges of the tire so they dont contact the ground, narrowing the contact patch... and they may wear a bit strangely. This comes from me putting a 225 on a 15x5.5" width stock accord alloy (yea I know, this is not recommended). I have since changed to either running on my 17x7.5 wheels with drag radials or 15x6.5" wide prelude sawblades. It does not pull the sidewall nealy as much and puts down a MUCH nicer contact patch.
