I'm looking at mounting this tire on a 6.5" wide wheel:

26x 9.50-16LT 8.0" tread width 26.1" diameter 82.0" 6-8" rim 8" measured 9.3" section width

It's a Hoosier Drag Slick.

The current tires mounted on the car are this size:
205/50ZR16 5.5-7.5" rim 6.5" measured 8.4" section width 24.1" Diameter 7.1" tread width.

Like I said the current wheels are 6.5" wide so the second listing is pretty close to how the tires are sitting on the car.

Will mounting the first tire on the 6.5" rim reduce the section width? For my application, narrower is better so I don't have to buy spacers or rub.
