I'm an average joe with a set of GRP aluminum rods..... I dont have a shop.... Pay for all of my parts out of pocket.... Would NEVER use a steel rod again..... Put more passes on the motor then most see in 5 years....

Before you speak you should have better knowlegde of what you are speaking about.
This isnt the 70's anymore and alu. rods have come a long way and are better in many ways.

What about 300m? Just broke Manley Turbo Tuffs on my car. Bolts held up but the rod snapped in half. You never know.

im sorry but your info about aluminum rods are wrong. Plus have you ever priced out aluminum rods? they are not that much more than steel rods. Plus you said price was not the issue. aluminum rods are great for high horsepower race engines and next time take a aluminum rod and compare it to steel rod side by side then you will know why aluminum is way to go. Also it depends if your building a race car or a weekend warrior.

Id like aluminum rods in my next build. I read you dont have to replace them, you have to check stretch.

No just too much power I think. Rods were damn near new. Couple dyno sessions and less then 15 passes.
