What makes the ULTIMATE Honda street sleeper? To you.
My chums are I were hanging about the shop discussing what makes the penultimate "sleeper" car. Something that when you see it at the track, your initial reaction is, "no way that's going anywhere fast". What does it take to get that emotion going?
I think bad Window tint really sets that ball in motion for me. Followed up by rust.
What's it take to build the ultimate little Honda sleeper car? All the better if you find a pic.

i used to rock the stock hubcaps on my 92civic si, they are the **** !
(that same car is now my racecar !)
it went 12.40's on drag radials (ls swap/rev-hard turbo kit/ FMU ! ) the street races used to be fun back in 2000

Made around 350 which was plenty of fun for a street car! The AFC tune and 272's helped make it sound like it was a total POS, that was always fun. God I miss that thing!
After a late night of parking lot cruising lol
I know it said honda but there was another DSM-thing posted so why not!
I think wheel covers like on Daves car, primer paint job, steelies, and anything that's a typical grocery getter makes for all the best sleepers.

Stock ride height (DA springs), faded rio red paint, primer over body work, busted driver door handle, and a lovely bolted autozone chrome exhaust tip.
Just a hmt kit, ported/upgraded 14b on a stock d16a6, very fun needless to say.

Kinda diggin the wagovan, but it's to clean to be a sleeper. I'd DD that car with pride! Needs some rust, pisspoor tint job and some mismatched hubcaps.
Stock ride height... that's a good one. What about stock interior with the drvers seat as some flashy red wannabe eBay race seat with the stock seatbelt?
Rota, that car needed a HUGE wing, that would have been perfect.

Oh man, I got another one.
How about a sub box made out of particle board, unfinished, with spots for 2 subs but only one in the cabinet, and it's loose in the car with really spindly 22 gauge wire, AND 3-4 snowboard stickers on it.
If I saw that in a track car... I'd write it off immediately.
I actually kinda like that e-cutout... I'm tellin' ya... This whole concept has "project car" written ALL over it to me. Best part about it, I bet it would be a car you could find for say $800. The goal would be to open the hood, and have like a show quality bay, on a car that could maybe run an 12.0

Joe's car to me is a rediculous sleeper, I think I read somewhere he said he had <$1500 in the entire car and runs 10.40's or so.

i dont think a sleeper has to look like ****, it just has to look unlike its performance. hidden IC ect ect helps but a car can be clean and still look like its slow and yet be fast.

It was about to be fired up and driven to the track. I actually ran the fastest pass I ever ran on that car on this day.
Lined up with my friend/neighbor's supercharged Dodge R/T.......that was a cool truck, but he got it handed to him on this pass.
There is a decent pic of it after I installed the front mount and painted it black.
Sorry if this is not Honda related. I got caught up the hole sleeper thing........

Re: What makes the ULTIMATE Honda street sleeper? To you.
lol..alot of people tell me my integra is a hardcore sleeper. Besides the bumper being cut out to aid in cooling, the outside is all stock, and very rough. You can't see in the pic, but the hood, roof, and hatch all have really bad faded clear coat, there is a big dent in the rear quarter panel, and now it has pretty deep scratches in the same spot from backing into a brick mail box (i was in a hurry to get to class). The car has 100% stock suspension (worn out bushings included), stock wheels, crappy dunlop tires. The only gauges i have are boost (just kinda chillin by the radio) and wideband (mounted where the cruise control button goes). It has a 4 inch exhaust but it has a turndown in front of the rear control arm. Still cuts 1.7 60 fts. on 24.5 inch slicks as it sits.

Well they arent hondas butttttt id say they are quite sleeper... this one was a budget built car.. i think the car was built with a $1200 limit and it was under than IFRC...

And then this car.. AKA The Turd....

I think Sleeper is when everything is hidden and you have no clue what it has.. i think the first car in my post is most definetly a sleeper... the 2nd well it looks like a POS and its fast buttttt the Huge IC, Gauges and cage give it away IMO...

Sleeper and fast must be sub 11 with no hints at all it's fast. I saw this accord 4dr at the track once super rice spoiler, altezzas, chrome looking rims. The car 11.80s at 141 I was like WTF totally shocked.
