West Coast 2007 NHRA sport compact schedule???
Im just kind of curious to see what the west coast races will look like because I know the colorado race is gone so that would only leave two races on the west coast, Vegas in JULY again which was probably one of the worst ideas ever, would the Powerade series ever race in Vegas in july, and Pomona in October. I have talked to alot of people about this isssue and they said if the vegas race was in july again then they probably wouldnt go. So that leaves 1 race that will have a good car count and the racers wont be miserable, pomona. I would like to know whats going on so I can decide if im going to commit to my SFWD or move on to something else.
I know there were talkes about races here in Utah and in Sonoma but that was after the 2006 schedule was released.
What are the possible place to race in 2007? I know this schedule was talked about but can it be done?
Utah July
Fontana August
Vegas September
Pomona October
Any other input/ideas would be good to hear.

sounds like a great schedule,
Vegas in july has to stop. My parents went to watch us race this year (as they do every vegas race) and my mom got heat stroke!

The 2007 NHRA SC schedule is being worked on and tweaked as I write this. All I can say is that some events and dates will change and Denver IS NOT out of the schedule at this point.
We cannot just go to any track and shove it into our schedule. This is a big financial undertaking by the tracks (not a track rental).
We will get the schedule out ASAP (AKA when the contracts are signed).
Thanks for the understanding.

Could you please consider this. Cortney and Joe have a very good idea.
There are alot of Utah racers plus the staff At RMR are willing to vacate a spot for you to sponser an event in July i believe. I wish you guys could have more than just 3 events for the west coast for the upcoming 2007 season. Plus Moving Vegas into the Fall or Spring would be a big relief for all of us.

I think they should make it two divisions for most of the classes then have certain ones be national events for the pro guys to go. And then at the end of the year have one big national champion race, on the west coast and then the next year on the east coast.
This way you don't have to travel as much for the low budget teams and it will make for great event at the end of the year.
that is just my idea

i think nhra is doing a great job for what they have to work with. our series is strugling alittle for sponsors, i believe if they can work it out with tracks and there scedules with other racing bodies then there shouldnt be any problem but we have been going to vegas in july for a while and yes it was hot! but it wasnt that bad, remember, we are all soldiers we have to work with what we have . nhra sony xplod sport compact series

so many tracks to choose from on the west coast....
pomona
vegas
sonoma
fontana
firebird(AZ)
seattle
denver
utah
i wish we could get atleast on more race on the west coast. Keep Pomona for the season finale, im fine with vegas in july, but if moved to june or september, i wouldn't complain...i do feel fontana needs to be added for 2007, maybe as a kick off for the season.

I think we already have now, don't we? Or are you taking about where the west faces the east champion? Hmm, that would be kinda cool.
Just be happy you guys get races. lol I gave up on texas...lol

I don't want to put a 10pt in my daily driver and they dont' give a **** jk
It would be nice to see some more west coast events but people need to get serious and show up, or build cars that fit their budgets. Most of the west coast hot rod cars would have a hard time qualifying for a SFWD event on the east coast

Re: (Arturbo)
well the vegas race in july is just insane it was so hot it was misserable. The races that nhra choose to pick for tracks im sure will be the best for us. Utah would be a great place to hold an event but there will need to be changes here for nhra to come here and place an event at this track that i think could be done. The races we have on the west coast are nice but could be better in diffrent perspectives eyes. i hope you guys make the right decision and make it feasable for us racers to stand the weather and racing with out dying of a heat stroke. Thanks again NHRA for making a great event werever you decide to place the events and keep the sport safe.
