WEIGHT REDUCTION
My em1 is pretty bare...no heater core, no rear plastics, no sound deadening, no firewall mat, only a driver's seat, gutted the innards of the dash, removed a hell of a lot of wiring and extra bolts and stuff and it still weighed 25xx without me...I'm going to replace the driver's seat with a kirkey, I have rear skinnies to put on, gonna pull the sunroof out and put an aluminum plug in it. Don't really know what else to do besides door bars.
weighed my 99 ek today. 2260 w/o me and 1/2 tank of gas.
still have more to remove..
no air bags
nothing from the front seats back(except strut bar and c pillar bar)
Still need to remove the front bumper support, firewall padding, anything under the dash i can pull out, passenger seat, sound deadening material..

All the crap behind the dash on an ek weighs **** loads, also might be worth making a new dash support for the column the stock mild steel one weighs a ton. Also worth chopping off all the brackets for the rear seats.
some ek's (such as the si's) have a heavier chassis than the other models. dont know by how much or which one is which, just remember a shop tellin me that when i had my 98 ex coupe. also anyone ever thought of removing rear windows and fiberglassing over the holes? idea i had wondering if its been tested
