We've got a Coupe, curious how much lighter a hatch might be (track ready with cage). I'm thinking a solid 200 pounds. All body parts being factory material.

My hatch is all glass'd and carbon'd out, so I don't have a base to pull from. I'm thinking about bailing on the coupe and building another hatch. But I'm convinced the Coupe slices the air better than a hatch, so that was the original criteria for the coupe build. Now I'm thinking "light" again.

Anybody campaign or be involved with both? I know it sounds like a relatively easy question, but it's really not.

I've never done a direct comparison but judging by what the old HPC eg coupe weighed, they are closer than you would think.

I dont have much experience with coupes, but i wouldnt doubt you could get a coupe just as light if not lighter than a hatch

i agree with the above the coupes may weight more stock but once you start taking stuff out the gap closes's in coupe's everything you remove weights more than in the hatch's...my prelude is proof...it weights 1900lbs w/o driver...in case you dont know ludes thats around a 1,000lbs of weight savings
