Feared NO! But highly respected definitely. Those bugs run hard, and run hard all day long. Alot of r&d and years or experience are in V-DUBZ. But you have to give the Honda camp there respect, we have come a long way in a very short period of time. Either way Drag Racing Rulez

We went to run at MissionRP in Vancouver, and the fastest allmotor car there was a beat *** looking Beetle. It ran a 12.1. The guy was only into it for $6000. Tough cars to beat, but they have a proven design from which to make them very competitive.

just curious is 12.1 fast in B.C.? i think the guy with the beat *** bug needs to double down his 6g's and it might equal closer to 10 seconds?

Maybe Im wrong, but arent most of the race series that we run in, only allowing water cooled entries? because this wouldnt be able to race against us... not to mention that its RWD...
8 & 9 sec bugs are pretty common... (at least Ive seen quite a few...)

Maybe Im just rambling...

that is Sean Gears old car. The current owner was co-owner of the car when Sean ran it. It was away for a little while, previously was the IDRC all motor season champion, I think in 2001?

If they run all series I am sure they will have an engine to be legal in each one. Aircooled cars are allowed in every sanction!

yeah she did. he red light and ran a 10.01 and she ran 11.XX and won. This bug was also in Fontana for the NOPI finals......

Erick, Bisi, Leslie......watch Out!

Once again...should the sanctions split the all motor class into FWD & RWD/AWD? How can we(HONDA) compete with a bigger motor and rear wheel drive?

Yes. The fastest honda is 11.94. At least that is the fastest that has been at the track.

i know all about that car, jack sacchette, and vw drag racing in general.

the bottom line is that jack will never see the 9's under 2004 nhra all-motor rules.

the 2003 nhra pomona race where he went into the finals against leslie durst was with a 2900+cc motor that used a factory air-cooled vw case... that engine case was black in color, and it's been up for sale for awhile now.

2900+cc engines were nhra-legal in a vw for the 2003 season... remember that 3-rotor all-motor car that destroyed everything in it's path... both were legal for nhra all-motor competition, but they were too fast for the class, and were ruled out asap by the nhra.

the vw drag racing community knows that the marketing $$$ are with modern fwd cars, so there is no way that they will get enuf rules breaks to allow them to be fully competitive... but they will win, as we saw when scott kelley spanked leslie durst at sonoma.

look at the irdc phoenix race, when norm abrey lost to danny cerny despite having him covered in qualifying... or when bisi barely beat jack by a few hundredths at the same race... despite qualifying three-tenths ahead of the entire field, something happened at the starting line for bisi, and jack had a head start of like 5 car lengths on him... bisi somehow reeled him in big-time!

all-motor hondas rule the roost right now, and they have no where to go but quicker... we just saw it at the idrc season finale, when bisi ran that 10:1(?) at palmdale... and erick ran the 10.3 in a new car... the best vw pass was a 10:37(?).

fear the hondas, not the vw's! i can't wait to see how 2004 unfolds for the honda guys.

in a word..YEAH. its really not fair to either competitor. one season the rules favor the rwd then in the course of a season it changes to favor the fwd and vice versa. its not right they are split in every other class why not this one??

I know of 2 guys that are marginally quicker than that at 13.0. That is about where I hope to be at the end of the year.

besides the vdubs are poor men porshes there gonna be fast with big motors light weight plus there rear wheel drive. But dont get wrong iam a honda head for life . I think the mazdas and bugs should leave the front wheel drives alone . or is it the fear of the front wheel drive HONDAS.

Like i've said b4...let the class be outlaw so that FWD can unleash its full potential. Somebody may even come with a tube chassis car w/ f22c motor and aftermarket tranny....w/ the driver sitting in the middle. Give us a few more years and a few more rule changes, then we will be an even greater force to be recogned with.

B-SERIES for life!!!!!!!!!!!

this site is so much more mature than sites like vwvortex.com, and most other vw sites.

if someone posted an article about a honda on vwvortex, i can guarantee at LEAST half of the people would be like "we dont wanan see that race" or something like that. its cool to come here and not see that

I think the people on this specific "drag Racing" forum are all car just RAcing enthusiasts and it doesnt matter what car we talk about. good info and tech on this board.
