Default VTEC Problem

I have a 95 eg hatch with a full jdm b16 swap.

I bent 2 valves in the head and had them replaced and the head checked out by a local Napa Machine Shop. Got the head back from the Machine Shop and put the head on. Test drove it and vtec worked fine the first 3 or 4 times I tried it. Came back to the house and the timing belt was loose so it was tapping the valve cover making a weird noising and tightened the belt up. After tightening the belt VTEC will not engage. I have replaced the solenoid with 2 different solenoids that i know work, have checked the wiring and its all good, have tried everything i know of and still nothing. I have a chipped p28 right now in it, but have also tried a jdm p30 so its not the ecu either.

Any help?

Sounds like the timing got knocked off.... Start with the basics man, lets see, what do you need for vtec?

right amount of oil
temp reading correct, along with vehicle speed
timing set correct
make sure the screen on solenoid isn't clogged

I think thats about it, unless it is a mechanical issue like other dude said about the rocker pins. You said it seemed to work fine @ first, but if they weren't installed correct I suppose they may be able to work themselves out. I would imagine you would here it bouncin in the head though.

its two pins that are located under cam caps closest to the timing belt side. remove these two cam caps and u should see two dowels under it. if these are not put back in, u will have vtec on and off.
