Twin Disc of choice High WHP
What r u guys having the best luck with as far as twin disc set ups go? I would like to here what ur using, how it holds up, if its been reliable, which ones have gave u probs. I'm a budget builder , and a twin disc hits me hard in the wallet so I wanna do it right the first go round. I was running an ACT 4puck @500whp and it did good for a while, but it's already eating pads away so I'm gonna bite the bullet and put a twin disc in it. Let me know ur thoughts and experiances...thanks guys

Ive been using a Comp twin. And i know about 3 other guys here locally that use Comps. Have had 0 issues with anything. My buddy pulled a brand new Tilton out of his Evo after 2000 miles for it slipping. Put a comp in and 0 issues. And most of the big HP guys you will talk to are running the Comps. Especially the new triples.

I've run Comp Twins in all of my all motor cars as well as many of the high HP turbo cars I have done.
I've used Exedy twins before but the price difference is crazy, and personally I have never noticed a difference in clamping force or wear between those two

Just buy a clutch one time. Sf has had very good results with the triple disk and so have I. It comparable priced to twin disk. Cc is working for me so I recommend them!

We have had great success with the Exedy twin on a car that I have been working with the past few years power levels ~700whp. Wear looks normal and the feel has stayed predictable and smooth over the last 3 years. In the past I have used CC carbon on my personal car and thought that was great but unfortunately didnt really get to put to many miles on it as I ran out of money and had to part it out. But, I ran it maybe for 10 passes and in that time it worked well. Another friend of mine had a CC metallic twin on his SOHC and he likes it but did not like having to make a pedal stop. Hope this helps.

If you took Exedy, Comp, Tilton and all the other main twin companies, put all the names down on a sheet and tally marked everytime someone told you to get a certain brand they would all end up evening out. You might just have to go with one and see what works for you because everyone seems to be very split on this topic along with many other topics on the forum. I have personally seen Comp fail twice and their customer service was questionable but the next person will tell you opposite. Good Luck.

I had a CC that had 8 passes on it before it was TOAST.
Been on the SAME Spec Carbon/carbon since May of last year. Over 200 passes on this clutch.

Comp is releasing a sprung disc twin soon as well...supposed to help cushion the engagement, almost like a carbon material does. Should be a nice piece for a lot of people's setups.

Clutchmasters Twin on both cars
Have also tried the Tilton twin, and it was alot harsher and firmer than the CM, so went back to Clutchmasters
