Default Tranny problem

my 1-2 shift is VERY difficult at high RPM. It does NOT grind at all, it just seems like it's locking me out of 2nd gear?! Even with the car off and the clutch in it is really notchy going into 2nd, but going into all other gears is smooth! i recently changed my fluid and it didnt help. the clutch has only about 5k miles of soft driving so i kno the clutch is good (CC stage 5, 4 puck w/upgraded PP)

could a worn syncro cause this? the thing that makes me think it isnt the syncro is that it doesnt grind at all, it's just hard going into second?!

help me out this is killing my 1/4 times

Not sure because it doesn't grind. I was going to guess a syncro. Im sure someone with more tranny knowledge will tune in soon. Good luck

Could be the selector or something is messed with the syncrol but to tell you the truth i believe its the syncrol, when my clutch went it wouldnt make any grinding sounds but second was locked out. What end up happening was everytime it got locked out and i tried to force it in the syncrol got more and more weak.

sounds to me like your slider is starting to get burred up, & is getting hung on the hub.

thats why u dont hear grinding its not even touching the syncros yet. when u try to shift, is the shifter hardly going past neutral position?

Yes! when trying to go to second, the shifter is hardly going past the neutral position, then it gets almost like stuck, from there i have to force it in...it goes in fine during normal driving, but when im high in RPM it locks me out totally!

2 things I have dealt with. I had the same issue for a long time and come to find out the clutch just needed adjusted so that it would release just a lil further. Now mine was cable so if you have hydro I guess you could just try to bleed the system and make sure there is no air in the lines. Also make sure your mounts are not giving out and causing the drivetrain and or linkage to get into a bind when your under full power.

You need a 1st/2nd gear synchro sleeve set and maybe the 2nd gear. that will fix it. you can get it at the honda dealer

Fix the sliders..... I just replaced mine, added carbon syncros, and a different final. And all my gears go in like a 2" pennis in a prostitute lol
