Default Track hatch build help

Haven't been on this site in a really long time. But on December 19th I was involved in a accident that totaled my 99 Si. It was a fully built gsr with rmf header and a lot of other goodies. It was 13.5:1 comp and made 202 whp it was a fun car.

But to get to the point. I'm getting about 25k from the accident since it disalighned my back. So I'm looking to build atleast a low ten high 9 hatch. I don't want to buy a dogbox tranny either. So looking for all the suggestions on a good build to do so.

You could buy a NICE turn-key low 10 second car for half of that price. To build it from scratch with new parts would cost you a lot of money. If you're dedicated to building it on your own my suggestion would be to find SFWD part outs in the marketplace and get parts that way. You will also save a lot if you do the labor yourself and limit the amount of time it spends at a shop. Also, don't spend all that money on a car... Material possessions come and go, your health is important forever.

Everyone always says that. I regret it. I mean don't get me wrong, the process is fun...but it saves you so much time/money.

i say buy a car change some things up even if small like powder coat, paint. it takes a lot of money to build cars from the ground up and i think you might be suprised how fast money will disappear into the car.

I kind of agree with the statements made here. Ive built my own from the ground up. But if I did it over again, I would at least find a really nice shell that had some nice parts to start with. Or a T/K car, and maybe redo a few things. You could sell some of the parts to fund the replacing parts.

AT LEAST BUY A CHASSIS ALREADY DONE! leave the engine bay to "you" so "you" know what kinda power you want to make. starting from scratch you gotta have patients. im 3/4 done after 2 years and alot more money spent starting from scratch.
