Tilton question??
To all the Tilton twin disc users....
I just placed an order with Tilton for a customer and as I placed the order one of the sales guys their told me that they now make the twin disc setup with an optional 10 lbs fly wheel. The standard flywheel is 6 lbs.
The car it is going in will be a sfwd setup making about 600whp. It will not see much street. Are their any pros or cons in going with the heavier flywheel??
Thanks
Marcos

If it's not going to be on the street, stick with the 6lbs flywheel. The only reason a 10lbs flywheel is better for the street is because it doesn't fall out of the power band as fast, so you don't have to rip through the gears to stay making power. The lighter wheel helps free up mechanical load on the motor which unleases more power that the engine is making. So I say stay with the standard 6lbs flywheel for your application.
