Default Is there a formula??

Is there a formula you pros use to convert 1/8mi trap speeds to 1/4 mi. estimates?

101mph in the 8th?

i dont kno any formulas..but 101mph in the 8th is ******* fast...thats prolly like 8 seconds quater right there

Around here all we have are 1/8mi tracks. She has not made a good pass on the 1/4 yet.

101 is no where near 8 sec pass. The Venom car from what I remember used to run around 130 mph in the 1/8th back when Jimmy was driving the car and used to go 150 in the 1/4.

Yeah, you can hit a high 8 with 128 or so mph in the 1/8th.

yup, I know it is no where near an 8 second run. Just trying to guage what the car might run in the 1/4. The car has since been converted to drag only. It was a daily driver when she ran that speed.

my car has run 6.98@107 in the 1/8th. thats a high 10 @ 133 in the 1/4 if that helps

i ran 101 in the 1/8 mile last time out and ran a 11.63.the clutch was slipping on the big end though.i would say mid to low 11's

There is a formula for this but unfortunately I forget what it is. If you call the NOS tech line they can tell you what it is.

101 is about a 7.1 or so right. Low 11 high 10. No formula tho, sorry.

If your looking for ghetto quick reference just as you read a post then here's what i do.

6 sec 1/8th.....9 sec 1/4
8 sec 1/8th.....12 sec 1/4
10sec 1/8th....15 sec 1/4

See the trend? We all know its not accurate, but it works for me, just to get a rough estimate. And boy is it a rough one.
