Re: Testing My TrueStreet civic
lol with all the cars running 8s and low 9s now on 24.5's there is more than enough competition out there. im not trying to be the top dog. things have progressed so much and i cant keep up financially. i just want to be back out racing.

Re: Testing My TrueStreet civic
Hey everyone,
You may know this hatch from the videos that Julio or I posted, or if you follow us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/TurbogixxerTuning) or Intsagram (turbogixxertuning). This is TJs hatch that we helped out on starting in November of last year. When we started with it, it was just a motor and trans in the car.
We started out by using the Hondata CPR. We were one of the first ones to get it. It has been a key to our success. If you have a hondata S300, it is a VERY good upgrade. We have never had ignition problem!!!
So we started the week with no turbo (his 6765 ate the bearings a few weeks ago). We were going to upgrade to the Sx400 Borg Warner, but it was not in the budget, so Julio offered his S366XL to us for the race. It was not the turbo we wanted, but julio wanted to see what the turbo could do.
So TJ dropped the car off at Straightline Motorsports. Shiva made and installed the new downpipe, catch pan, and got the car buttoned up in less than 4 days! I can't say enough about how fast and great his work is!! So friday we were ready to go to the track, with the new MH tires that we got for the race replacing the old MTs.
Shiva's work:
We got to the track with Straightline and got to work. With the new turbo, we have not even seen the dyno. The first pass was a "test" pass to check the boost and tune. I knew it would not be that far off, because I have tuned this turbo with a similar setup. We setup for the first pass and it bogs, then goes. We were not expecting it to go this fast on a smaller turbo:
TJs first 9 second pass. He went from never driving a car like this, to 9 seconds in less then 6 months!!!!! Sadly, it rained after that.
Sunday comes along and we gear up for it. I make the changes to the tune to go faster, sadly, we had small issues with the setup the first two passes (10.7@149, 10.01@155). With talking to the crew, we found and fixed the issues. We geared up for semi-finals against chris green that has been running mid 9s all day. At the lane, I tell tj to cut the best light he can. With that, TJ trees him with a .194 vs .512. Then we run our best pass to date, 9.77@156.
Now, we are in the finals. I make small changes to the tune. We were rushed to the line and I could not setup TJ where I wanted him. Even with a slower 60', it went 9.70@158!! This is on a SHELF borg warner turbo that is sub $850!!! There is STILL changes to be made with the tune, with more time, it could have gone 9.6-9.5.
This is what track tuning will do for you. The car will be getting upgrades soon to go even faster. TJ came runner up in his first event ever in a heads up class. I cant say enough about his driving. He is getting better and better everytime.
Now to the thanks, Huge thanks to Julio@straighthype, when we get all the videos together, I know he will have a very nice video done on it. Shiva and Kooli@ straightline. You guys are the best!!!! Matt/James@speedfactory for always helping us out. The whole crew (Driver, justin, nik, my GF, Jaywest, Andy, and everyone I am forgetting).
We will be at IFO in oct. See you there!!!
