I cut a hole in my hood on my civic and I make intake come out of it. I have an hks filter on it. Will this pass tech inspection? I know muscle cars have there carburaturs coming out of there goods.

 

yup,it'll pass but you might get a few laughs

 

Im putting a hood scoop on it and i could care less if people laugh while im paaing them on the track

 

It wont pass tech at a nhra race...they dont let you have intakes pertruding outside the front end.

 

I can see a foward facing intake not passing like one thru the headlight and pass the bumper but he's installing it under a hood scoop,if he gets banned,they will have to ban the entire field of pro-stock cars besides all the other cars that show up with carbs sticking out the hood..ie blower cars,cars with tunnel rams,etc etc

 

Well if its surrounded by a scoupe or cowl, i guess is ok

 

most cars with intake showing being carbs need to have a flash shield of some sort, so there is no chance of a flame.........dont know about EFI though........they allow a turbo inlet. though. Mike

 

i doubt that its necessary at all, but if u have the scoop, i would think it would pass?
