Asked in the shaved tuck thread, but not much help.. Maybe some of you wiring gurus can help....thanks.
I have a question for you guys. With your tuck harnesses, what kind of system voltage are you guys seeing with your harnesses.. I have a chasebays cm2 harness, and I think the alternator wire for the harness may be to small.. I'm seeing about 12.9-12.5 and even 12.0-11.7 sometimes with my accessories on(stereo, fogs, and headlights).. The voltage is supposed to be around 14.0-13.8, with the car running..
I changed my alternator already, due to the voltage regulator going bad and the system was being overcharged.. I replaced my battery also, just wanted to see what kind of voltage you guys were seeing with your tuck harness..

You should see 14 volts, doesn't matter what harness you are running. Disconnect all wires from the alternator plug except the yellow black and see if that helps.
If your charge harness wire were too small it would be overheating and possibly melting. Also, you can disconnect your alternator charge harness wire and measure the voltage out of it with no load and see what it's putting out

His power wiring is not sufficient for any car that has a decent amount of load on it. Stereos, fog lights, big fuel pumps, etc. In my experience with the harnesses that people have brought me, this is what I have found. Maybe different for some of the race car guys that they have had him build for them, but overall, this is what I have seen. Do as Chris suggested and see if it's something else first though.

The car is a dd, but it does see track time.. I have a amp and a cap in the car, also I'm running a full blown setup with twin pumps to a 75amp tyco relay... When I check the datalog in my hondata, the voltage has fallen off to as low as 9.5-10.5 volts underload and boost, even with my amp and cap removed for track days..
I might try what you guys suggested, and see if that helps..
