Did we ever get a definate answer on if sunroof plugs are legal. If they are not, then I am considering welding a piece of sheetmetal in its place. I really need to know before the cage goes in, and I know there has been lots of different views from different techs on this.

 

im sure a piece of metal welded in where the factory sunroof was would be acceptable, since some models had a sunroof and some didnt

 

Sunroof plug is accepted in NHRA Sport classes.

 

I have just decided that I am going to plug mine. If that sanctioning body won't allow it then f%*K em'. They will lose a couple of racers. to NHRA for allowing it. My $.02

so everyone pretty much agrees that the plug will be legal. I just know that I will be pissed if a tech gives me **** after that cage is in...

 

I think the sanctioning bodies will come around to accept the plugs. There has been so much controversy over this and now that the NHRA has accepted the plugs I think the others may start accepting/overlooking it as well.

 

I run one in my RSX and they tried to give me crap but dropped it after reading their own rules. I run in the Sport FWD class.
