i spoke to bob on your situation and time insert is your only solution.best bet is to send it back to Golden eagle, have them inspect it to see if you need to oversize it ,and have them install one or all in your block

I am pretty sure the machine shop should be able to install some timeserts. I saw my friend install them in his driveway. He had the kit that came with the jig to place the bit in to keep the drill all square when drilling, tapping, and installing the timesert.

i've heli-coiled a bunch of blocks and continue heli-coiling them when ever i have an issue. i put 2 coils in each hole with no problems at all. studs screw in effortlessly and hold 80-90 lbs without a problem...

i didn't bother reading the whole thread but time-serting a block is quite common even in the dealer world have done countless d series and a few of my own b series, its also becoming common place on j series when you do headgaskets on it cylinder 1 likes to pull threads out with the bolts. i timesert all day long and never look back its about 25-30 blocks i have done over the years, no negative issues at all.

Re: Stripped head stud hole, need some info!
We invested in all the Timesert kits years ago and they are well worth it for shops/builders who do alot of blocks. Each kit is about $400-500 so the average racer isnt going to buy it. Look for a local shop or any of the engine builders who specialise in Hondas in your area to see if they have any of the Timeserts.
Helicoil is NEVER a solution for head stud threads. Thats bad news right there. Most likely the standard Timesert wont work if its already helicoiled. There is a chance that the Bigsert, which is the oversized thread insert after the standard one may work.
The way it works is the existing threads are drilled out and the smoothed out. Its kinda of like "sleeving" a thread. You're prepping the existing thread and overboring the hole to accept a new sleeve. So the Bigsert is pretty much a bigger thread sleeve.
In my opinion, timeserts are stronger than the original threads themselves. You're not worrying stripping the threads when you have to torque down the head like you do with OEM.
Timeserts are only sold through certain distributors so check out www.timesert.com for the nearest distributor near you. They can also help you find a local place that may carry machinist tools. Some may stock certain timesert kits. But pretty much for the Honda stuff, you have to go to distributors like threadkits.com

Re: Stripped head stud hole, need some info!
Never ever put helicoil on stud hole or anything in that matter .... it won't work. you have to think your torquing 80+ftlbs and you think heilcoil or timeserts will repair it? lol
not to mention, OP's car is boosted.
to the OP, just get a different block or you can just take it to the machine shop with different size stud and im sure they'll take care of you.
yes, you'd have to drill your cyl. head out to fit oversize studs but most machine shops do that so no worries.
hope this help you out buddy.

Re: Stripped head stud hole, need some info!
Any first hand information you can share that would show a timesert to not work or how you determined they dont work. If honda-tech's search was not so wack, its been discussed a few times and people have sucessfully used timeserts in boosted application without issue. In fact they are stronger than the original threads in the block.
I would agree on the HC though.
Edit: Timeserts are expensive though and you might weigh the cost of them installed vs the cost of having block/ head machined for larger headstud and new studs.

well, just to update..
I picked up a kit from a user that replied to this thread. Its on route now.
It works out well because theres another guy that is in the area that has the same problem, so its good that one of these kits is around. A friend of mine that has a shop wanted to have this kit available to fix honda blocks, so he paid for the kit!
