Default Strain gauge comparison: Flatshifter vs Hondata

I have a line on a Hondata for a really good deal. Is there any reason to spend the extra money on a Flatshifter. With a $400 price difference I imagine theres some kind of difference. Any thoughts or experiences are appreciated.

I would love to know as well. I have been drooling over the Hondata since its release.

the only thing ive come up with, and i cant even confirm this, is maybe the flatshifter is compatible with high end software like Motec, Haltech, AEM Infinity, etc... whereas the Hondata is only compatible with basic software like Hondata, Neptune, etc. but again, i dont know this for fact, just an educated guess.

As I understand the Hondata, it is designed to work with both. It can output either a ground signal or a strain gauge signal of 0-5v.
