So what do you base "not worth all the extra money" on?

If that's the case, go with the journal bearing 4294 for $1300.

Only ran an 11.0 tho... betcha would've been running 10's with vin diesel if you had a turbo with a faster transient response.

Hmmm, why the heck do you need transient response? Just put in in D and mash the pedal.... Lol

In my case I would just be concerned with getting it up to boost off the line...

I really hope you're kidding!
....or better try a different dyno, that doesn't match.
I think you should be traping higher than that.

No, what really matters in the drag world is who is holding a wally at the end of the day. Take Dyno numbers, MPH and ET with a grain of salt. Other than HT who really cares about who the fastest car is, I am more inpressed with who has the most wins. But anyway, that is really off topic...

Amen x2

Racerstev,

I would recommend going with the biggest turbo your class allows and then put the biggest exhaust housing on it (flame suit on). Then spray to spool. I believe SFWD rules state that if you run nitrous + turbo=100lb. weight penalty.

I'm building a FWD AUTO Mirage with a 4G63. I ended up choosing a non BB GT4088 (64.7mm ind) and used 1.34 A/R housing. I'm going to use atleast 75shot on the launch and then boost only down the track. Still debating on what fuel I'm going to run but I'm leaning towards E85.

One thing I have always wanted to try, why not a smallish turbine to get fast
responce and a couple large wastegates to lower the backpressure once on boost?

It would seem like the best of both worlds..

Also, I noticed that when running E85 on the street car the turbo comes on a bit
sooner..

Not really.. The restriction is still there(it's not gonna go away) and opening up wastegates would mean your going to lose boost.

Alky tends to do that...

I have and they both made similar power and had similar spool... this was on a cobalt....They were close enough to call even.... not bad considering the borg warner was a big shaft non ball bearing....

Thanks Jason, now that is good to hear!

I was looking for the physical dimentions, to see if I can get it to fit between the
engine and firewall...

It looks like the S372 and 70 will outflow it as well...

Borg Warner makes Ballards turbo as a direct bolt on to the gt42r, I know for a fact same v band on the compressor and exhaust....

Here is the S372 map.

You'll need to convert the measurements.

Tops out around 88lbs/min whereas the S370 tops just over 92lbs/min and spools quicker.

You will pay several hundred more for the S370 vs the S372 all because of that billet wheel.

More flow.... less pressure = lower IAT's = more efficient power.
