Default Slicks on stock 15" rims?

What drag slicks can be used on stock 15" wheels? Or is it even possible? If so, does anyone have pics? How well do they hook?

it can work if the slick size requires something similar to your rim width. Look at the slick manufacturer's specs to see what the recommended rim width is.

Lets say you're using a stock 15x6 rim, you may be able to put a 7" or even 7.5" wide tire on a stock wheel. Usually the recommended rim widths are within 1.5" of the tire width, but there are some tire designs that can use up to 2.5" difference from the rim to the tire width.

Many people have run 22x8's on stock 15" rims. I ran them on a 15" steel rim and got many good passes out of them with a 1.60 60ft as my best. Wider is better but you will be fine on a stock rim for now.

Slicks were M/T 22x8 15" slicks. Wheels were stock 01-04 Civic 15" steelies, I think 5.5 inches wide.

M&H 24.5x8.5x15s on Si wheels. You will need extended wheel studs and wheel spacers to fit them though.

isn't the major downside of putting slicks on stock rims is that it will wear the outer edges faster than the middle, even with an alignment? i might be wrong about this, not sure, just want some opinion

1/2" spacer on each wheel. The tire was hitting the shock.

We haven't noticed any abnormal wear on these slicks, they wear on the outside edge due to positive camber on the car from lifting the front end too high. We run them at 9psi.

A 22x8x15 slick has worked pretty good with many of the all-motor guys around here.

Is there a big disadvantage to using these compared to 13" slicks? I know many ITRs are converted to 4 lug in order to run smaller rims relullting in huge success (mid to low 12's ALLMOTOR w/ stock bottom ends!) I know that more sidewall is better and that 13" rims and slicks will weigh a hell of a lot less than stock ITRs with slicks.
