Should I try something different?
So after two years of dragging my feet about my old car getting stolen, I finally got a new one and got it up and running and made it's first trip out of the garage for the first time to the H-T Capitol Raceway meet a little while ago. 92 Civic CX, Street Modified trim minus a built engine. Took some 22x8x15 MT's with me.
I figure we'd start off with 12psi. Single spin through the water. Pull forward and do a nice 4-5 second burn out. Staged, 6,500rpm. Partial throttle, no 2-step yet. Pre-load, drop, bog. Hmmm 2.1 60'. Check the pressure, reset to 12psi, rinse repeat. Change to 7,000rpm. Bog, 2.0 60'. Hmmm. Reset pressure to 12psi, 7,500rpm, bog slightly less 1.9 60'. Still not happy, but neither were the rain gods as they unleashed and ended my night.
So what are my options for next time?
1. Run more pressure?
2. Stop being a ***** and launch off the limiter full throttle?
3. Since is just test and tune, stage, weight for the first yellow, then full throttle it down and when it reaches around say 7,000-7,500 drop the clutch so it's a full throttle launch instead of a partial throttle. Does this even sound like a good idea? Or am I just babbling here?...
4. Stop being a ***** and build the engine already.
Ok ignore number 4 temporarily. It's getting there.
Thanks.

wow, this thread had 0 views, im surprised nobody has read it, h-t is full of people who want to give their input
you said you do a spin in the water box and then pull out and burnout? im assuming 1st gear? you could try 2nd gear at the edge of the waterbox until they start smoking.. should pull you right out of the box.. but what motor is in the car?

Looks about like my only choice at this point.
