Default to shift, or not to shift...

If I'm topping out 3rd just a little before the 1/4 mile sensor should I even bother shifting up to 4th?

It's just in my stock S2k...

4200ft elevation and bad launcher = 92-93mph trap speeds. fuel cuts out about 94-95 in 3rd gear

anybody have any helpful input? God-willing I'll figure out how to launch by next season so should be closer to 100mph which will require 4th gear but I'm just curious...

If you are trapping 92-93 and the car reaches 94-95 in 3rd, why would you need to shift?

3rd gear calculates to 94-95 at 9000rpm. If I hold 3rd through the last little bit I hit fuel cut, and my fastest trap speed was 92.89mph with stock size tires. Just trying to figure out if shifting to 4th around 8800rpm would help?

NAH2B -
I believe peak power is around 8600 or so, fuel cuts at 9k. VTEC starts at 6k.

The easiest way to figure this out is to just go to the track and try it......

if you can play with your limiter by lets say 200rpm higher you'll probly fix that problem. remember it will be higher in 1 2 & 3 that should almost cover approx 100ft.
