SFI flywheels?
NHRA requires an "SFI" flywheel for cars running 11.49 et or faster...
do they actually check for this? i mean you would have to pull the tranny to see the damn flywheel/clutch. unless you could just show them paperwork?
i was planning on running the ITR flywheel i have, and an ACT XTR6 clutch (pretty sure thats SFI). i dont know, is it really necessary to run a "SFI" flywheel? i mean if there is any reasonable concern of the stock flywheel exploding or something i would have no problem just getting an ACT flywheel to go with it. motor will mostlikely be spun up to 10k rpms also, 500whp range...
anyway what you guys think?

if you want to run a non sfi approved stuff that fast, its your legs. clutch explosions are no joke. ask don garlits.

Usually at every tech inspection, they will pull your tranny and look at the flywheel.. nothing to worry about tho.. You usually get pretty quick at it after the 10th time.
BTW, get a scattershield
