Re: S400 67mm?
So far from what i have read there are several billet wheel available for the s400sx 72.
Bep batmowheel 6blade
ED billet wheel 11blade
FI billet wheel 6blade i think
There are some more.
Some claims as high as 100hp were gained with the batmowheel upgarde compared to the 7blade cast.
Another thing is weight, the ED billet wheel is the lightest from what i have read.

Those are nice. Did you actually see on the dyno how much change in power/spool compared to the cast wheel?
Some of the diesel guys on the other forums,
Usually just swap out/unbolt the comp housing and the comp wheel and slap on a billet wheel upgrade for their s400sx.
Its just a matter of who's billet wheel you'll run.

-at MIR worldcup jeff evans just became the first truestreet car in the 8s using this S400SX 67mm turbo: http://www.full-race.com/store/borgw...sx3-turbo.html and of course did it with the small 24.5" tires
-nonvtecallmotor mentioned there is a few prototype BorgWarner 71mm turbos floating around, none of them use a "billet" compressor wheel. These were designed in-house by BW engineers. the other stuff ive seen posted in this thread did NOT come from asheville afaik...
-the "old" cast 71mm remains their latest blade type - the difference is in the turbine wheel since the 83mm is the perfect match for their 91mm '91S74' compressor... not the 100mm '100S71'

Borg Warner sent me a "new" 71mm to test and it is STILL CAST.
I have yet run it past 31psi.
31psi netted an amasing 160mph in my car. I was way past that psi to run the same speeds with the "old" turbo.
I usaully only pick up ~30mph on the backhalf. With this turbo I picked up 39mph at only 31psi. It is show promise thats for sure.
Big thumbs to Borg Warner and Full-Race.
Lets not forget that the Prelude went 9.33@161 and a 9.37@162 with the Borg Warner S400SX billet 67mm.

Our shop car,
sfwd
s372r was cast wheel upgraded to billet wheel (didn't see a difference yet since we are still on the same boost?)
9.66 @ 159 cast wheel
9.65 @ 158 billet wheel
this was done all at same boost 33-34psi.

Re: S400 67mm?
The turbo will outperform any 67mm on the market hands down. I trapped 165 mph with 34 psi at 2600 lbs. I should be into the low 170 mph range around 40 psi. You want the 1.25 a/r housing if you are building a divided manifold, backpressure on the 1.10 a/r starts picking up alot above 30 psi. It dropped around 1:1 @ 34 psi with the 1.25 a/r housing. Emap is dependent on other factors, but you should see similar results at the same pressure ratio range on your engine. Spool/response between the 1.10 and 1.25 a/r was almost identical. I think the turbo can easily produce the same power/trap speeds as the cast 72mm s400sx.

Re: S400 67mm?
Was stoked to see Evan's tuning run the time they did with that turbo and then to find out that Prelude was doing what it was doing on the same one. Makes me even more excited to get my SRT going with it.
Good info guys! I hope more people opt for this turbo and have great luck with it!
