I am pretty sure you only need the window net if you have a 10point cage, and the net is from keeping your head slamming into the glass

i have a 6 point in my coupe, ill get pics up when i get a batt for my camera, it is welded and i do drive it everyday. i like it, yes i does draw attention, just be prepared to back it up!. i think if your gonna keep the car, and eventually make it a track monster, get a welded cage. a lot of times the bolt in deals wont pass tech and its more expensive right off the bat, but its your car, and its up to you

bolts can loosen as years pass...they also do hot have as much contact to the floor as a welded cage! in most cages the cage builder will sandwich the unibody with the metal plates for the cage (one on top and another on the bottom) this creates a really strong foundation for the cage, thus making it harder to be pulled out of the floor in a really bad situation...

i Have a DD EF HB with a 8 point cage and love it... Iam going to convert to 10 point with a custum dash... if you have gutted your civic then you know why i got a cage in my DD I like to go fast and feelin safe is just a bones... IF you live in So Cal you sould check out ING-Racing.com They do cages and **** for crazy off road trucks that are made to take a beating so they cant aford to build crap. Tell them Adam Sent you and they will hook you up.
Im looking into a cage for my EM1. ive got tinted windows so im not worried about attention.
it will also strengthen up the car a lot.
seen too many t bones with cars completely crumpled. I think to myself. If they had a cage....
a lot of people worry about hitting their heads on the bars though..
i think if its designed right youll be fine and if your head is gonna hit any of the bars,,your probably f*cked already

Hey kid, you're right to a point, but as far as I'm concerned, if you're going to do a cage in a street car you HAVE to have the seats, and harnesses to go with it. Personally I'd feel 100% safe having seats, harnesses, and a cage, I mean I've seen some pretty nasty crashes where people have walked away unscathed. It's all about making sure to dot your 'i's" and cross your "t's"

Here is a pic and a thread I made on my cage. Its a 6 point for now. No need for 8 point til the car goes that fast (fingers crossed). I plan on making some additional bars in the rear to support the shock towers.
Pretty much not gonna get anyone in the back seat. Its dangerous for them in my car cause how the bars bend over the rear seats, if there was an accident or me hanging a corner without warning then they could smack their head and get injured. Also not having seat belts back there doesnt help either.

We've gotten away without them (really depends on who is teching your car) and other times not... I personally like welding a tab across the back of the main crossbar for attaching the seatbelts as it looks cleaner and does helps prevent a little lateral slide...
As for the a mild steel cage, it has to be composed of 1.75" (O.D.) x 0.118" excluding the main cross bar which can be 1.25" x 0.118"... The only difference with C.M. is the thickness, 0.083" and 0.065" minimum for the cross bar...
