Pics of my roll cage we just put in!!
First off I would like to give racerxadam credit where credit is due. He was the man behind the cool self tinting welding hat who did 98% off the work involved with putting this thing in. He is actually kinda pissed from what you can see in the first pic here cause he has 2 papers due for class tomorrow and the time of the pictures was around 2:15 am. All in all, it was a 2 day project that spanned about 18 hours.
This is an 8 point mild steel cage that Im only gonna use as a 6 point cause im never gonna be fast enough for the extra 2 bars. MIG'd in obviously. Kinda sad that the pics dont really do the welds justice---they actually look a lot better, must be the weird shadows the black paint makes.
I still need to give it some more paint, but i will do that later.
Also I have swingouts for both sides, but Im kinda undecided wheather or not I want to use them cause getting in and out is a lot easier then i though it would be.
Well, here they are. Please give some comments wheather good or bad!

dan i think it looks great. is that s&w? swing it by the shop so we can see it close up. if you want to go the extra mile, put some dough(body fill) on the welds, a little sanding and it will be show quality. josh
Show Quality? I dont think that's NHRA Legal...(Bondo and Sanding)
BTW: Who makes that cage? I'd like to get one in chrome-moly...
Time to start gutting that big down son, nice welds BTW.

The bar is from here. The fit was pretty good, the only major cuts were cutting the main hoop to height and cutting the angle on the door bars so that they would lay on the floor. Maybe two spots that needed to be notched a little more.
BTW, I still haven't written those papers and they are due by 4 PM. I have to go to work at 2 PM. I suck.

You should get rid of that rear strut crossbrace and connected the roll bar to the strut towers instead.

Thats Adam in the first pic. Last one is me with my buff arms
Cage is S&W. Took about 18 hours as stated in the post.
Im really loving the cage. Car feels totally different---solid as hell. Lots of annoying sqeeks and rattles disappeared.
Im just hoping that the POS will go faster then 11.99......thats the whole point of it being in there. Im sure it will though.

Dan your arms do look kinda big, you are such a sexy bitch
Anyways looks good man, we will have to run sometime now that you can pass tech. It took Pauter 8 weeks but my rods finally came so it wont be long.

looks good. Personally i would have opted for chromemoly bars but they do cost more than mild steel. Weight savings and TIG welding. looks good and good luck
