Default quick question

hey guys , i recently finished building my 1993 honda civic eg, i have a b20b engine turbo kit on it and all. i wanted to take it to the dyno but when i went the guy told me i can’t dyno tune my car unless i have a hondata ecu , but then some other guy said it’s still can be dyno tuned with a factory ecu, not sure who to trust more lol can i or can i not still use my factory ecu for a dyno tune up?

Depends if your ECU is chipped or not but most prefer Crome or Hondata.

if your factory ECU is already chipped, but does not have some sort of programmable hardware in it, (Hondata S300, Neptune RTP or Demon, etc) then, no, a tuner cannot tune it. Unless said tuner uses another ecu to tune with and then burns the tune into your chip.

So, "yes" you can tune with a factory ECU and "no" you can't. If your "chip" is soldered into the board, then it probably cannot be overwritten and therefore is NOT tunable.

Hope this answers your question
