quick parachute question............
NHRA rules say "no ball-pin locks"......im in the middle of welding all my crap in there...and all of the kits i have seen come with a ball pin lock to hold the chute MOUNT.......is this OK? more or less to make the chute mount quick release.....if i need to weld it thats fine...i just need to know tonight if possible....thanks guys

yea i guess that would do the same thing....i'll have to do that....thanks! BTW tig welding upside down in the trunk of a coupe sucks!!! i think i have a broken neck now

technically im not fast enough yet
i keep doing things as i need them like a retard...like i put a 6 point cage in the car......that lasted me one race..then going back and adding to that was a lot harder than if i would have just done the correct cage to begin with....so i figured while im waiting on parts i'd throw the chute on there and be ready for when it does happen. we all know how awesome my luck is so i figure i'll think ahead.
got everything finished up other than running the cable.....its getting late and im hungry..might finish it up later. this cars a full time job in its self

They are referring to the lanyard mount, not the actual chute mount. Most kits come with a bolt and sleeve for the lanyard. It's fine to have a quick release pin in the chute mount tube.
ok thats exactly what i thought they ment....but i was just making sure....i used a bolt for the mount anyways...thanks guys
