Default Question to those that know

Is it possible to build an N/A car, with free labour and wholesale prices on parts, that will hit 11's for $10,000? We'd be using an EF chassis. Suggestions?

would you have to buy the chassis? i think it might be able to be done with a good motor builder and money spent very very wisely

At most we'd pay $300 for the shell, all body work done free, but we could score a shell off our sponsor (rally) perhaps.

We've thrown the H22 around, but what about CR-VTEC? I'm looking for some assemblance of "reliability". I'd rather have issues not associated with Frankensteining. But the thought is tempting.

Our first car ran 11.50s n/a for about $8000, so it can be done and that was with a 2.0L B series!!

it can be done no problem. my friend spent about 8 grand on his complete motor and ran 12.60's all day in his 95 gsr with no seats and running open headers. a hatch is light by 400lbs so it should be done without a problem

If I had that money to spend, I'd buy the portflow crx. But i guess building u'r own would be more fun.

That motor is dope, but I think i may go H22 after thinking about it. Tough to argue with displacement, and compression shouldn't be a problem. Keep the suggestions coming.

I reckon a bolt on H22 in a light (1500lb) car would run 11's and you should be able to do it for 5000 if you can do it yourself.....or a carbied F22

If you put a H22a in a light shell It will understeer like hell so will only be useable for the strip.

This would be a drag only project. No one in B.C. has a super fast all motor car designed as a straight drag car.

I really just want wheelie bars.

I believe it can be done for about 6k. Thats not going with a stock head though, thats the full port job and all but a known place. Thats the good ****.

I wish you luck man. It can be done cheaper than 10k for sure though. Almost 5k if you spend right
