when i push in the sides, air sqeezes out, is that normal? my friends slicks doesnt do that. im kind of worried that when i launch w/ them something will happen..

Hi torqueless; Are we talking right @ the beed or on the sidewall and how much air pressure do you have in them.

No that isn't good at all. don't try to run them that way. either the bead on the tire could have been damaged while mounting them on the wheels or they aren't seated to the wheel. look at the little line around the bead to see if it is even all the way arround. if it is take the tire off and inspect the bead and the wheel. if its not let the air all the way out, lube the bead and air them up till the bead seats. never exceed the max air rating on the tire. usuly 25 lbs. will seat them with some lube. be carful tires can be dangerous!!!

hmm. mabie they werent seated, cause when the guy pit it on the rim, he asked me what psi i wanted it at, and i told him 10psi.

Did it need to be at 25psi the first time when putting it on??

Here is what you do torqueless;

#1- Soap the tire bead and the rim part of the wheel bead. I have been using Dawn soap for 30-years.

#2- Read my label on the tire and do not exceed over 35-psi to pop the tire on the bead.

#3- If it will not go on the bead of the wheel, you need to send the wheel back for exchange.

I have not seen a slick and a wheel that I could not mount up.

Good Luck in 2005 Happy NEW Year and be safe torqueless.

Sorry this is abit of topic.. But when is M&H coming to New Zealand?? I heard a rumour that someone was looking at importing them in...

And as another query, if I'm spinning my slicks on my rims whats the easiest way to stop it or is it kinda normal?? I'm running 24.5-9-13's on a 13x8 rim with 6psi in them race temp.. I spin them about 1/4-1/2 an inch per run... But I'm cutting 1.55-1.62 60fts.. do I need to bead lock the tires and if so whats the best thing to use?

Hi Hondog; Bead Locks = $ put screws in, the screws only have to go in a 1/4" and that will hold the bead and stop the slicks from moving.

Hondog; I ship to New Zealand all the time, what sizes did you need.

torqueless; Did you get the wheel and slick taken care of.

Hey John, I am trialing some friends 23-8-13's this week to see if going down a tire size is going to help me or slow me.. I'm am abit stuck see I cross the finish in 4th on the rev limiter, but I need to change to 5th butI drop to much time shifting to make it worthwhile.. So I am in the situation where I either go smaller and cross closer to the end of 5th or go bigger and cross in 4th still..
