Default Balancing slicks.........

Well we got the slicks we are going to run, 26 x 8.5 x 15 MT ET Drags. (probably gonna go wider, but we are just giving these a shot) And my question is, how many of you have your slicks balanced. I guess i was thinking that you would not have to, seeing as how you only have 6-7psi of air in the slicks, but i'm not sure at all. So let me know if you guys are balanced or unbalanced.

Thanks

my slicks are balanced and i would recommend it since trap speeds are in an excess of 100+ mph.

I always have mine balanced. Ran some 20's and some 22's unbalanced and the shake at the top end was rediculous.

Balance those bitches....a few years ago I ran new slicks unbalanced and thought I was gonna die after the first 2runs. Car was all over the place. After I got them balanced....all the shaking/floating went away.

the next question is at what pressure would you have them balanced at? i have a hard time imagining a slick at 6psi going around on the machine...

How exactly do you balance slicks? Are they the same as normal tires and you could take them to any tire shop or do you need to go to a specialist?

I don't remember exactly the air pressure they were balanced at but I think it was 25psi. I went to discount tire..and they put them on the machine with the cover. Alls I know is that after that the tire shaking and side to side action stopped. These are on 24.5x8x15 m&h's on bogart rims. I also run mine at 12psi at the track.

I usually balance them at like 8 -10 psi and try to dynamic balance them if not i just static balance them at same pressure.

I always balanced mine at 25-30psi. I never had any shaking. The reason that I use so much air is to simulate the tire's shape at 100+ mph.
