Default Question about c16?

i just had my car on the dyno and this is the first year ive used vp c16..in past years ive used pump and meth....this year im having breakup issues in the upper rpm....the car has stock ignition...now my question is ...is c16 harder to ignite with the stock ignition?...would this be causing the missfires?...its at 597whp, setup is

2.0L lsvtec
6766 t4 1.15
topmount
pro1s
victor x
s300
bkr8eix .019 gap
stock ignition

the reason i ask is last year it made 612whp with the pump and meth with no miss fires?
any input would be great

I had stock ignition while using c16 and never had that problem. After I bought the M&W Pro 10 iginiton it didn't change anything so you should be fine. I would ask your tuner though to be sure.

you're ignition might just be on its way out, that's a good amount of power for stock ignition. if you plan on upgrading check out the Summit streetnstrip digital box. Basically Mallory internals. Along with a coil from MSD, Crane, etc. Ive yet to use mine but theres a number of people on here with the same set up and wouldn't complain.

Not a bad upgrade shipped to you for under $250

Lower gap to .012 - .014

Also you could try 7 plugs. I had misfire with 8s and switch to 7s and it went away.

It could be blowing out spark up top. Gradually go a bit tighter until it stops, if that's the problem...

Yes the M&W would. But I think you should fix the issue you are having first before getting the M&W. Gap those plugs and see.

I'm running close to this on 7's with stock ignition with absolutely no problems, but I've always been curious if there are any drawbacks to having such a small gap?
