What works best? reving to 3-4K then dropping the clutch?? Or "feathering" the clutch?? What is the proper technique?

rev it up higher and don't drop it but don't feather it. let it go pretty fast but don't let the revs drop.

Lets say stocks, so rev to like 5500 or so then let it out fast, do I gas it hard as well? I find when I do that the car hops once before I take off.....

But Idealy reving to about 4-5000 and letting the clutch out quick would work best for an 00 Si\SiR for example?? I find if I let the clutch out the fast the car hops and bogs... Do I need to give it more gas?
